ThirdCoastActivist.org is a great resource for local activist- related events and  The subject matter is varied and relevant to current events.

Love Resists Campaign is a UUA- centered resource through UUA.org. Please visit the UUA website for inspiration and elaboration.

Say hi to the human beings in your presence. Honest and curious dialogue is what builds bridges of positive interconnection.

Give someone an unexpected compliment.

Take a minute to make someone smile. Smiles feel good.

Recycle. Reuse. Reduce.

Choose love first.

Families belong together. Children belong with their parents. Seeking asylum is not a justification for the infliction of even more trauma on those who seek safety.

The best way to heal the world: start with fixing our own flaws. We all have them, we are human and therefore imperfect; and that's perfectly okay, as long as we keep love and goodwill in our hearts.

It is not a sign of weakness to admit a mistake. Just learn from it and try your best not to repeat it.

It sounds pretty simple, maybe even silly... but if you happen upon a piece of litter, please pick it up and discard it properly, even if it is not yours. The oceans would surely reward all of us if we did so.

Please remember to fill out your pledge sheets and make your monthly donation. You can find pledge sheets at the UU. If funds are tight, we ask for an affordable donation, and, if you can, a hands- on service in lieu of money; we have plenty of chores to do. Thank you.

The men in the following photo had no idea they were going to have this encounter. One, at the time of the moment captured, is homeless; the other, a man who has exposure to difficult situations regularly by way of his employment, who could become hardened to keep things from affecting him too deeply so he can return to do another day's work.

The homeless man was seeking to improve his lot in life and had a job interview that morning. He was having trouble shaving his beard off with the shaver he had.

The officer, who had stopped to run into the store behind the homeless gentleman, noticed the man's struggle and inquired.

Instead of driving away and wishing him luck, the officer gently helped the man remove the rest of his beard, right there on the side of the store.

The job was at a Mc Donald's. He was on time for the interview.

He got the job.

Recognizing our interconnectedness can be pretty powerful.

With a simple demonstration of love in community, the web of people who surround these gentlemen are touched by this simple act of kindness.

In turn, the ripples continue on and on.

Are you smiling? You just got "rippled".
